Philip Watson, 67, went to be with his Lord and Savior February 5, 2015. A memorial service will be held Saturday, February 7, 2015 at 11:00 am at Thomaston Road Church of Christ with Jerry Whitmire and Rob Robinson officiating. The family will greet friends an hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Care Building Fund at Thomaston Road Church of Christ, 5859 Thomaston Rd., Macon, GA 31220.
Mr. Watson was born in Union Springs, Alabama to the late William and Emma Kate Connell Watson and was preceded in death by a brother, Eugene Watson, and a sister, Kathryn Farmer. After living in Albany for 35 years, he and his wife, Anita moved to Macon. He was an Insurance Salesman with Mutual of Omaha and served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. Mr. Watson was a member of Thomaston Road Church of Christ, where he was active in the visitation group ministry and was an avid golfer.
Survivors include his wife, Anita Carver Watson; children, Kyle (Kayla) Watson, Grant Watson, and Kelly Lafferty; grandchildren, Reese Watson, Tate Watson, Jonah Watson, EmmaKate Lafferty, Erin Taylor, and Mason Lafferty; and brother, Larry (Linda) Watson.
