James Moye Tidwell, 91, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Easter Sunday, April 4, 2021. A Celebration of His Life will be on Wednesday, April 7, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home. The family will greet friends from Noon until service time at the funeral home. Entombment will be in Macon Memorial Park Mausoleum with the Rev. Kim Washburn officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Greenwood Baptist Church, 3400 Gray Highway, Gray, GA 31032.
James was born in Macon, Georgia to the late James Leroy and Mildred Moye Tidwell. He was preceded in death by his wife, Myrtice Howard Tidwell, son, Scott M. Tidwell and sister, Betty Tidwell Washburn. James served his country in the United States Army and he was a member of the Methodist faith. He was a retired carpenter with Washburn Construction. He was a devoted and loving, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother and uncle.
He is survived by his son, Barry (Cindy) Tidwell of Macon; grandchildren, Chris (Jody) Tidwell, Jason, Tidwell, Jamie (Jim) Jenkins, Brandon Tidwell, Scott M. Tidwell, Jr., Clay (Christie) Tidwell, Mark (Chasity) Tidwell, Jacob Tidwell, Kalab (Amy) Tidwell; numerous great grandchildren; sister, Carol Mason; and several nieces and nephews.
