MACON – James William Jones, 47, passed away Sunday April 10, 2011 at a local hospital. Funeral services and a celebration of his life will be held at 1 p.m., Wednesday at Lawrence Drive Baptist Church with burial in Glen Haven Memorial Gardens. The Rev. Brad Marchman and Dr. C. Michael Blizzard will officiate. The family will meet friends from 6- 8 p.m., Tuesday at Snow’s Memorial Chapel, Pio Nono Avenue. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Jones’ children educational fund at the James Jones Memorial Ed. Fund, Robins Federal Credit Union, 4066 Hartley Bridge Road, Macon, GA 31216.
Mr. Jones was preceded in death by his father, Charles William Jones. He was a native of Sikeston, MO and was of the Baptist faith. Mr. Jones was owner and operator of Siltex and for many years worked with Girls Youth Softball Travel and Rec Teams. He was a loving husband, father, son, brother, and loyal friend to many.
Survivors include his family whom he adored: his wife, Leanne Fair Jones of Macon; his children, Randa Jones and Jamie Jones of Macon; his mother, Marion Mooring Jones of Macon; three sisters, Theresa (James) Allmond of Macon, Alison Jones of Atlanta and Mary Mooring of New Zealand; seven nieces; three nephews and a host of friends.
