MACON – Ruby Helen Young Wood, 96, passed away on Tuesday, March 1, 2011 at a local hospital. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday at Northridge Baptist Church with burial at 2:30 p.m. in Westview Cemetery, Wrightsville, GA. The Rev. Klay Aspinwall will officiate. The family will meet friends from 5 – 6 p.m., Wednesday at Snow’s Memorial Chapel, Cherry Street. They suggest that those who wish make memorial contributions to Northridge Baptist Church, 2360 Gray Highway, Macon, GA 31211.

Mrs. Wood, wife of the late Charles Clifford Wood, was born in Tennille, GA the daughter of the late Lewis Willis Young and Corilla Jones Young. She was a devoted homemaker and a member of Northridge Baptist Church.

Survivors include her daughters, Elaine (Stephen) Mathews of Gray and Priscilla (Calvin) Palmer of Macon; her grandchildren, Stephen (Amy) Mathews, Jr., Michael A. Mathews, Christopher A. (Renae) Mathews, Scott (Michelle) Mathews, Dennis (Martyne) Palmer, Kendall Palmer and Trey Palmer; eight great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
