Helen Major

Mrs. Helen Major, age 84, beloved wife of the late Harold Edward Major of Lizella, Georgia passed away peacefully on Friday morning, January 27, 2023 surrounded by family at the home of her son in Acworth, Georgia after a short illness. Born in Mobile, Alabama, she was born to the late Vester Earl McAnally and Nora Emmanuelle Judge McAnally. Mrs. Major was a graduate of Nebo High School in Madisonville, Kentucky after which she was a mother and homemaker. She co-founded and owned Major and Associates, Inc. in Macon, Georgia until her retirement in 2004. She was a member of Lizella Methodist Church.

In addition to her parents and her husband of fifty years, she is preceded in death by her sibling, James McAnally; nephew, Kevin Major; brother-in-laws, James Matthews and Kenneth Major, and sister-in-law, Linda Major. She leaves behind a sister, Velma Matthews of Madisonville, Kentucky; sister-in-law, Glenda Major Courtney (Pat) of Parrish Florida, her children, Mark Major (Jane) of Acworth, Georgia, Paul Major (Liliana) of Cherry Log, Georgia and Kimberly Major of Lizella, Georgia; grandchildren: Ryan Major, Amanda (Chris) Brinker, Juliana (Chase) Duvall, Katherine Adams and Kole Adams; great-grandchildren: Keira Major, Derek Major, Kylah Major, George Duvall, Connor Brinker and several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Major will be laid to rest next to her husband in the family cemetery in Slaughters Kentucky. A private memorial service for friends and family will be held at a later date.
