Macon, GA - Hazel C. "Mamie" Ashley, 87, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, November 1, 2012. Graveside services will be held on Saturday, November 3, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. at Macon Memorial Park Cemetery with the Rev. Mark Hudgins officiating. Mrs. Ashley was born in Bainbridge, GA to the late Rufus and Minnie Hall Carpenter. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward T. Ashley. She was a member of Ingleside Baptist Church and a member of Mary Martha Sunday School Class. Mrs. Ashley was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.
She is survived by her children, Eddie and Vera Ashley of Macon, Carolyn Ashley Chapman of Macon, grandchildren, Terry and Jessie Chapman, Lisa and Jason McNew, Jenny Ashley Ahouse and Pete Ashley, great grandchildren, Taylor and Ash Chapman, Emma Ahouse, Harper and Chloe McNew and several nieces and nephews.
