Gary D. Sumlin, 56, passed away Tuesday, January 20, 2015 at his residence. Memorial services and a celebration of his life will be held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, January 27th in Glen Haven Memorial Gardens. The family will meet friends from 6 – 8 p.m., Friday, January 23rd at Snow’s Memorial Chapel, Pio Nono Avenue. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 804 Cherry Street, Macon 31201 or to the American Lung Association, 2452 Spring Road, Smyrna, GA 30080.
Mr. Sumlin, son of the late William Brantley Sumlin, Sr. and Mildred Klein Jernigan Sumlin, was a lifelong resident of Macon. He was of the Baptist Faith and was a mail handler retired from the U. S. Postal Service. He was preceded in death by his brother, William “Skip” Sumlin.
Survivors include the family he loved, his daughters, Brittney and Haylee Sumlin; his grandson, Blakely White; his granddaughter, Saige Sumlin; his brother, Charles Sumlin; his companion, Sherri Gordon and his extended family Kelly and Chris Newsom.
