Mrs. Frances Beacham Smith, 82, of Macon, died Sunday. Funeral services will be held Thursday, September 29, 2011, at 11:00 AM in Snow’s Pio Nono Chapel. Dr. Craig Rikard will officiate with burial in Macon Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will meet friends from 6-8 PM Wednesday at Snow’s Pio Nono Chapel.
Mrs. Smith was born in Laurens County the daughter of the late John Clarence Beacham and the late Ella Maddox Beacham. She was preceded in death by her husband, James B. (Smitty) Smith. She had lived in Macon most of her life and was a member of Ebenezer United Methodist Church. She was retired as a computer operator from Industrial Welding and Tool Supply. Mrs. Smith dearly loved her family, playing video games, and solving crossword puzzles. She also loved to watch “her boys” in the A 2 Z Band. She was a kind and gentle mother and friend with a great sense of humor. She was small in statue, but large in life caring, protecting and loving her children.
Mrs. Smith is survived by her children, Vicki Webb of Macon, Rusty (Donna) Smith of Warner Robins, Jeff Smith of Forsyth, long standing family friend, Frank Graham, Jr. of Macon, her grandchildren, Clay (Brittany) Webb of Atlanta, Jimmy Smith of Atlanta, and Phillip Smith of Statesboro. She is also survived by a step great grandchild, Marleigh McCarthney, a half sister; Sherry Kittrell of Dublin, and numerous nieces and nephews.
