Ernest M. Sawley, Sr. 86, died Sunday, May 29, 2016. A Celebration of his Life will be held on Wednesday, June 1, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home with Bishop Tim Kelly officiating. Burial will be in Macon Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 10:00 a.m. until service time.
Mr. Sawley was born to the late Elbert and Thelma Sawley, Sr. He is preceded in death by his son, Dana V. Sawley. Mr. Sawley was a 32nd degree Mason at the Mabel Lodge # 255 and a member of Scottish Rite. He was a Major in the State Guard Association of the United States and a Captain in the Association of the Georgia State Defense Force. Mr. Sawley was a former member of West Highland Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Sarah Sawley; son, Ernest Sawley, Jr.; granddaughter, Jennifer Renfroe; great granddaughter, Summer; several sister-in-law’s and brother-in-law’s; several nieces and nephews.
