Edward Franklin Dye, 89, passed away on Saturday, March 25, 2017 surrounded by his family. A Celebration of his life will be held on Wednesday, March 29, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home. Burial will be in Macon Memorial Park Cemetery with the Rev. Mike Fuller officiating. The family will greet friends on Tuesday, March 28, 2017 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home.
Mr. Dye was born in Macon, Georgia to the late Zachary B. and Ida Mae Dye. He was preceded in death by his wife, Rachel Dye and three brothers, Thurman Dye, Frey Dye and Raymond Dye, children, Tommy Scott and Julie Scott. Mr. Dye was retired from the United States Navy and Robins Air Force Base. He was a member of Mabel White Baptist Church. He enjoyed being with his family and working on his farm.
He is survived by his children, Jane (Lanny) Haygood of Forsyth, Alice (Kenny) Couch of Macon, Jimmy Russell of Colorado, eighteen grandchildren, twenty two great grandchildren, two great great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
