Dorothy W. Colter, 91, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, February 12, 2014. A celebration of her life will be held on Sunday, February 16, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home. The family will meet friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will be in Macon Memorial Park Cemetery with the Rev. Joe McDaniel, the Rev. Stephen Grantham, and the Rev. Stephen N. Johnson officiating. Flowers are accepted or donations may be made to Serenity Hospice, 520 Hillcrest Parkway, Dublin GA 31021 or Centerville United Methodist Church, 600 N. Mrs. Colter was born in Caldwell, Georgia to the late Henry W. and Loupina Woodard. She was preceded in the death by her husband, Alfred M. Colter. She was a member of Mabel White Baptist Church, Joy Sunday School Class and the Beryl Flanagan WMU. Mrs. Colter was retired from the Naval Ordinance Plant and worked as a lunchroom cashier with the Board of Education. She was a woman deeply devoted to her Christian faith and to her church. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.
She is survived by her daughters, Sandra (Dr. Ronald) Digby of Gastonia, NC, Sharon (Jeff) Davis Morrison of Centerville, four grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; and one due in August; several nieces and nephews.
