Doris T. Jones, 85, Arnoldsville, Georgia passed away on December 18, 2021 at her home after a long illness. She was a former resident of Macon and Perry, Georgia. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 PM Wednesday December 22, 2021 at Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home with visitation beginning at 12:30. Burial will be in Macon Memorial Park Cemetery. Pastor Steve Smith of Avondale Baptist Church will officiate.
Doris was born to Gussie and Milton Long on May 10, 1936 in Macon, GA. She graduated with her GED at the age of 65. She was married to Archie Jones Jr., (deceased March 6, 1976), Bobbie Thomas (deceased January 19, 2006) and William Jones (deceased July 19, 2009) residing with them until death.
She worked for Atlantic Cotton Mills, Allied Chemical and Boeing Aircraft in Macon, GA until her retirement. Doris was a member of Avondale Baptist Church for many years and loved to help decorate the tables for events held at the church. She loved painting ceramics at the Senior Center in Warner Robins, GA. She also loved traveling with her grandchildren and had great love for all stray dogs that would later become family members to her.
She was preceded in death by Milton Long Sr., (father); Gussie Long (mother); Robert Earl Long (brother); Milton Long Jr., (brother; Mary Lou Jones (sister); and Caleb Hulett (grandson).
Doris is survived by her three daughters and spouses; Wanda and Wayne Pledger (daughter); Vickie and Johnny Hulett (daughter); Denise and Brad Hudson (daughter); Virginia and Jim Marsh (step-daughter); Alan and Dawn Jones (step-son); grandchildren; Melissa and Justin Bupp, Megan Hulett, Hunter Hulett, Jonathan and Paige Dalton, Skylar and Adam Nelson; great-grandchildren; Autumn, Noah, Isaac, Willow Bupp, Emery Nelson, Savannah, Ashton, Destiny and Annabelle Hulett.
Pallbearers: Brad Hudson, Scott Pledger, Michael Chestnut, Adam Nelson, Jonathan Dalton, Justin Bupp.
