Master Sergeant, Donald Eugene Lewis, USAF (Ret.), 86, passed away Thursday, August 17, 2017. A celebration of his life will be held Sunday, August 20, 2017 at 3:00pm in the Mausoleum Chapel of Macon Memorial Park with Rev. Jimmy Corbitt officiating. Burial will follow in Macon Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 2:00pm until service time in the Mausoleum Chapel. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Meals on Wheels, 1212 Gray Highway #E, Macon, 31211.
Don was born in Burlington, Wisconsin to the late Roy and Margaret Lewis and was preceded in death by his wife, Eleanor Alphin Lewis and her son, William U. Cox, Jr. He was retired from the United States Air Force as Master Sergeant and served in the Vietnam War. Don later retired from TY Gibson Pest Control and dedicated many years to Meal on Wheels. He was a member of Martha Bowman United Methodist Church and the Genesis Sunday School Class.
Survivors include his children, Steven (Renee) Lewis of St. Louis, MO, Charles (Marjorie) Lewis of Grapevine, TX, Heidi Fodera of Troy, MI and Lyn (Ricky) Collins of Macon; and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
