Devin Ahmad Butts

Devin Amhad Butts (22) entered eternal rest on Friday, May 5, 2023. A Celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, May 13, 2023 at 11:00 AM in the Stratford Academy Gym, 6010 Peake Road, Macon, Georgia 31220. Burial will be in Macon Memorial Park Cemetery. 3969 Mercer University Drive, Macon, Georgia 31204.

On November 2, 2000, a little boy named Devin Ahmad Butts was born in Macon, Georgia to the parents of Derex and Tashia Butts. As Devin grew older so did his love for his family. Devin had the ability to light up a room with his enormous smile and his cheerful, and loving spirit.

Similar to his parents, Devin’s love for basketball grew tremendously playing AAU and becoming a star player at Stratford Academy. Upon his senior year, Devin was a stand out player among the basketball community and received multiple Division 1 scholarship offers. As Devin began to finalize his collegiate career, he was attending North Carolina Central University majoring in Behavioral & Social Sciences with plans of graduating Summer 2023.

Devin was preceded in death by his grandfather Curtis Roberson of Sparta, Georgia; his grandmother Alice Roberson of Milledgeville, Georgia; and his uncle Freddie Sandifer, Jr. of Macon, Georgia.

Devin leaves behind memories of his outgoing, loving, and kind personality to his most cherished family; his parents, Derex and Tashia Butts of Macon, Georgia; his siblings Jordyn Butts of Valdosta, Georgia, Anfernee Stone of Atlanta, Georgia; his grandmother Earnestgene Foreman (Stacey) of Milledgeville, Georgia; his grandfather Tattnall (Nuna) Butts of Milledgeville, Georgia; his aunts Patricia (Walter) Bell of Macon, Georgia, Edith Sandifer of Macon, Georgia, Velma (Larry) Welch of Stockbridge, Georgia; his first cousins/brothers Brandon Sandifer and Jaylan Sandifer both of Macon, Georgia; and his God Daughter Nylah Rose Smith of Killeen, Texas; and a host of family and friends that he loved dearly.
