MACON – Curtis Lamar “Lucky” Harrington, 85, passed away Tuesday, June 12, 2012 at a local hospital. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday, June 14, 2012 in the chapel of Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home with entombment in Macon Memorial Park Mausoleum. The Rev. Hershel Sizemore and Pastor Dennis Harden will officiate. The family will greet friends from 1 p.m. until service time on Thursday at Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home.
Mr. Harrington was born in Macon and was the son of the late Rufus Wayne Harrington and Elzora Allen. He was preceded in death by his wife of sixty five years, Liz Harrington. He served in the United States Navy and was a member of Lighthouse Baptist Church for many years. Mr. Harrington was retired from his position as Assistant Chief of Macon Bibb County Fire Department. He was the owner of an antique and estate liquidation business for more than sixty years.
Mr. Harrington is survived by a son, Curtis Lamar Harrington, Jr. and his wife, Ann of Long Beach, CA; daughter, Kathy Elise Harrington of Flowery Branch, GA; granddaughter, Veronica Ann Harrington-Myers of Los Angeles, CA; two brothers, Wayne Harrington and Mike Harrington and very dear friend, Mike Spinks of Lizella.
