MACON - Mrs. Cleone Theresa Cox, 84, passed away March 17, 2010. Funeral services will be held 3P.M. Saturday in the chapel of Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Macon Memorial Park Cemetery. Dr. Michael Blizzard will be officiating.
Mrs. Cox was born in Crawford County to the late Lon and Lessie Hortman Childers. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Leroy Childers, Garner Childers, Reginald Childers and sister, Martha Mullis. She was a member of Lizella Baptist Church.
Survivors include husband of 68 years Monroe Cox of Lizella; two children; Mike (Vickie) Cox of Macon and Angie Thigpen of Macon; one sister, Annie Laura Bass of Athens; five grandchildren, Brad DeFore, Susan DeFore, Tommy Thigpen, Alicia Record, and Heath Cox; eight great grandchildren also survive.
The family would like to express thanks to her caregivers Mary Taylor and Luppi Pritchard. -The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. Friday evening at the funeral home.
