Christian was born on August 25, 1993 in Boynton Beach, Florida. He was born with a rare genetic disease called Fanconi Anemia that created many complications in his life. His early years were filled with hospital visits, treatments and surgeries all around the United States. When he was two years old his parents were told that no one with his disease mutation had ever lived past the age of four. At the age of seven in 2000, he underwent a bone marrow transplant in Berlin, Germany. In June 2001, the family moved back to Georgia and with his immediate life threatening issues behind him, he began to thrive. His main job was Inspirational Leader but his other works included being a member of the Lamar County Sheriff’s Office, National Spokesperson for Caddy For A Cure (a PGA tour charity at www.caddyforacure.com), founder of Nighthawk Services (a security company) and was a caddy for Bubba Watson at The Masters golf tournament. His loves include his family, his animals, hockey, golf, the military and law enforcement, western US history, food and talking. Christian made the most of his twenty four bonus years by loving life, loving people, building deep relationships and sharing his love of Jesus.
Christian is survived by his parents, Chris and Susan Akers Collins of Macon; siblings, Colby (Melissa) Collins, Cameron (Amy) Collins, Connor Collins, Calen Collins, and Francine (Dave) Sauer; nephew, Carson Sauer; niece, Isabella Sauer; paternal grandmother, Joan Hudgins; maternal grandmother, Carol Akers.
