MACON – Charlie Raymond “Lock” Lockhart, Jr., 78, died Monday, May 16, 2011. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday at Porterfield Baptist Church, 2910 Allen Road, Macon 31216 with burial in Glen Haven Memorial Gardens with full Military Honors. The Rev. Sam Waldron will officiate. The family will meet friends from 6 – 9 p.m., Wednesday at Snow’s Memorial Chapel, Pio Nono Avenue. They suggest that memorial contributions be made to the Georgia National Guard Family Support Foundation, 5019 Highway 42, Suite 203, Ellenwood, GA 30294.
Mr. Lockhart was born in Sparta, GA and had lived in Macon most of his life. He was the son of the late Charlie Raymond Lockhart, Sr. and Louise Yarbrough Lockhart. Chief Warrant Officer Four Lockhart was retired after forty years with the Georgia Army National Guard serving with the Organizational Maintenance Shop 2 within the Forty-Eighth Brigade. He was a member of Porterfield Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife of fifty-seven years, Eleanor B. Lockhart of Macon; two sons, David Charles (Darrae) Lockhart of Macon and Timothy Dale Lockhart of Lizella; one grandson, Justin Lockhart of Macon; one brother, George “Sonny” (Charlotte) Lockhart of Warner Robins; two sisters, Marguerite L. Thurmond and Annette L. (Jimmy) Ford of Macon; several nieces and nephews.
