Carlos Tucker, Jr. 93, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, February 16, 2024. A celebration of his life will be held on Wednesday, February 21, 2024 at Noon at Bellevue Baptist Church with the Rev. Jim Duggan officiating. The family will greet from 11:00 a.m. to service time at the church. Burial will be private for family only at Macon Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Bellevue Baptist Church, 5925 Price Road, Macon GA 31220.
Carlos was born in Macon, Georgia to the late Carlos Tucker, Sr. and Sally Estelle Pender and a grandson of George William and a great grandson of Moses Tucker. He was married to Thelma Emillie Greenway Tucker for over 73 years. Carlos attended the public schools and was a graduate of Mercer University with a degree in Chemistry. He was recognized for his Alumni service and received a Mercer Alumni award for Meritorious Service. He was a member of the American Chemical Society for over 65 years. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. He was a member of Bellevue Baptist Church and a Sunday School Teacher for over 60 years and a Deacon. He was the Laboratory Manager at Hercules Inc., in Savannah for 30 years and Quality Manager for the Paper Chemical Division of Hercules Inc. for 5 years. He was also the Quality Manager for Vinings Industries Inc. in Atlanta for 6 years. He enjoyed golf and genealogy. In fact, he has written and published 23 Family Genealogy books and has contributed some of them to the Macon Washington Library.
He is survived by his wife, Thelma E. Greenway Tucker, sister-in-law, Carolyn Tucker Rhodes of Macon, niece, Tina Pence (Brian) of Macon, two nephews, Michael Tucker of Macon, Timothy Tucker (Patty) of Cumming, cousins, Fred (Sandra) Tucker, Mary Ann Wilson, Eugene (Patsy) Johnson, Charlotte Moody, Ellen Haygood and Houston A. Tucker, Jr; special cousins, Andy Greenway and Lisa Degner and a host of other cousins, nieces and nephews.
