Bruce E. Manning Jr.

Bruce E. Manning, Jr., 80, passed away on Monday, June 27, 2011. Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 1, 2011 at Noon in the chapel of Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home. Burial will be in Macon Memorial Park Cemetery with Pastor Tim Long officiating. The family will greet friends on Thursday, June 30, 2011 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home.

Mr. Manning was born in Cartersville, Georgia to the late Bruce E. and Jeanette Black Manning. He was preceded in death by his wife, Janet Munger Manning. He served in the United States Air Force and was retired from Bellsouth after thirty three years of service. Mr. Manning was the Past President of Macon Men’s Bowling Association, was a Youth Bowling Association Coach, and was a member of the Telephone Pioneers Club. He was an avid bowler, hunter, and fisherman. Mr. Manning was a devoted and loving father, grandfather, and great grandfather.

He is survived by his children, Debbie Manning (Dexter) Melton of Macon, Tammy Manning (Terry) Singleton of Macon, and Todd (Glenda) Manning of Byron, grandchildren, Shannon (Laura) Wilson of Warner Robins, Jason (Melissa) Wilson of Macon, Jeremy Manning of Warner Robins, Alexis Manning of Macon, and Mark Bennett, Jr. of Macon, great grandchildren, Kailey Wilson of Macon, Lindsey Wilson of Macon and Ariel Wilson of Warner Robins and several nieces and nephews from Illinois and Florida.
