Bruce Arnold Ball, Jr., 71, passed away Tuesday, March 5, 2013, at home. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Friday at Snow’s Memorial Chapel, Pio Nono Avenue with burial in Glen Haven Memorial Gardens. The Rev. Joe McDaniel and Mr. Charlie Simmons will officiate. The family will meet friends from 6 – 8 p.m., Thursday at the funeral home. They ask that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to the American Heart Association, 5962 Zebulon Road, No. 359, Macon, GA 31210.
Mr. Ball, son of the late Bruce Arnold Ball and Gertrude Crank Ball, was born in Ashland, KY and served with the U. S. Army. He was a supervisor with Keebler Co. retiring after thirty-three years. Mr. Ball was a member of Mabel White Memorial Baptist Church. He was very active in the life of Agnes Barden Elementary school. He was a “Jack of all Trades.” Bruce blessed many with his unique talents and unselfish desire to always lend a helping hand. He loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing and was a Master Mechanic. He was proud of his home state, Kentucky Wildcats and was an avid NASCAR, Mark Martin, and Atlanta Braves fan. He was the brother of the late Lester Ball and Danny Ball. His first love was his family, his wife, his children and his grandchildren.
Those who will miss him most are his wife, Janis Gorman Ball of Byron; his daughter, Teresa (Tim) Davis of Bonaire; his son, Kevin (Debbie) Ball of Lizella; five grandchildren, Christopher and Brandon Davis, Kady and Courtney Ball, and Justin Bryant; his sisters, Joyce Stewart of Ashland, KY and Jennifer Wright of Blaine, KY; his brother, David Ball of Ashland, KY and nieces and nephews.
