“So he who had received five talents came and brought five other talents, saying. “Lord, you delivered to me five talents; look, I have gained five more talents besides them. His lord said to him, “Well done, good and faithful servant; you were faithful over a few things. I will make you ruler over many things. Enter into the joy of your lord.” Matthew 25:20-21.
Matt was the ultimate entrepreneur with many amazing God-given talents. These included woodworking, lighting, designing, and many other creative adventures.
He began woodworking as a child and as a self-taught carpenter, he could build anything from cabinetry to ornate houses. As he grew up, his gifts developed into a beautiful balance of logical mathematics and creativity. He graduated from Mercer University with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and Accounting in 1996. As a third generation mover, Matt was extremely family oriented and used his degree to expand Blair Moving and Storage.
His pursuit of health and wellness led him on many athletic adventures. He enjoyed rock climbing, bicycling, olympic lifting, and won several CrossFit competitions. He also held a black belt in karate. Often referred to as a “problem solver,” Matt could fix anything and once designed an app for CrossFit enthusiasts and purchased a gym to test his app ideas. In addition, he developed a supercomputer to harness additional engineering and blueprint design skills.
Matt was a visionary with aspirations of taking his amazing gifts and talents to create experiences in helping others bring their imagination to fruition. Matt’s quietness and determination endeared him to many people. He was successful in everything he attempted to do.
He is survived by the love of his life, Dr. Sylvia Rose-Brown (married for four years); parents, Pam and Larry Brown, who provided unconditional love and support; brother, Jason (Angela) Brown; and a niece, Autumn Worsham. He will be missed by many family and friends.
A Celebration of his life will be held on Thursday, November 30, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Snow’s @ Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home with the Rev. Joe McDaniel officiating. The family will greet friends from 1:00 p.m. to service time at the funeral home.
