Beverly Alexander Wade, age 85, of Macon, Georgia, passed away on Friday evening, January 8, 2021, following a courageous 17 day battle with COVID-19. She has now joined her Lord Jesus Christ and been reunited with the great love of her life, her husband of 60 years, Marion E. Wade.
Beverly May Alexander was born April 25, 1935 in Macon to the late Willie Preston Alexander and Sallie Mae Baggette. She was preceded in death by her sisters, Ruth Dumas Forrest, and Anne Noonan.
She worked for many years in the banking industry before retiring from a fulfilling civil service career at Robins Air Force Base.
Beverly and Marion joyously served together as members of Hopewell United Methodist Church in Milledgeville, Georgia. They loved traveling and camping in their RV, boating, and fishing. Most of all, she loved being with her family.
Beverly is survived by her sister Sandra (Broughton) Mullins of Fayetteville, Georgia; and her loving sons and daughter-in-laws, Steve (Harriet) Wade of Smarr, Georgia and David (Shelley) Wade of Macon, Georgia. She was the beloved “Nana” of her grandchildren, Melissa (Sheldon) Hulsey of Forsyth, Georgia, Joshua (Catherina) Wade of Wahiawa, Hawaii, Matthew (Heather) Wade of Bonaire, Georgia and Tyler Wade of Macon, Georgia. Beverly was also the proud “Nana” of 7 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 10:00 A.M., Friday, January 15, 2021 at Snow’s Memorial Chapel on Bass Road with Broughton Mullins officiating. Visitation will immediately follow the service. Interment will be later that day at Georgia Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Milledgeville, Georgia.
