Betty was born on October 2, 1930, in Peach County, GA to the late Seaborn Hardison and Eunice Johnson Hardison. She graduated from Byron High School where she played basketball. She attended college in Milledgeville prior to beginning her career in the legal and insurance fields. Betty dedicated her time and talent volunteering as Sunday School superintendent and WMU leader at Tabernacle Baptist Church in Macon. Betty loved sewing, reading, watching Wheel of Fortune, and working in the yard. She and her husband traveled the world after they retired. She had a zest for life and a sweet disposition that will be missed.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 63 years, John J. Ross, and by siblings John Hardison, Mabel Small, William Hardison, and Dorothy Williams.
Her memory will forever be treasured by her beloved children, David Ross of Macon and Donna (Dave) Parrett of Greenville SC; grandchildren, Dylan Ross of Jasper GA and Taylor (Dan) Mans of Greenville SC; sisters-in-law Rose (Bobby) Landers of TX, Nancy Ross of DE, Margie Ross of DE: brother-in-law Charles (Jeannette) Ross of Ontario, Canada; and a host of nieces and nephews.
The funeral service celebrating Betty’s life will be on Monday, March 20, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Snow’s at Macon Memorial Park. Visitation with Betty's family will begin at 10:00 a.m. until service time. Burial will be in Macon Memorial Park Cemetery.
Flowers are welcomed, as are donations to her beloved Tabernacle Baptist Church.
