Betty J. Rowntree Elliott, 79 died on Thursday, March 20, 2014. Graveside services will be held at 3:00PM Saturday, March 21, 2014 at Macon Memorial Park Cemetery with the Rev. Ricky Tidwell officiating. The family will greet friends from 1:30 to 3:00 prior to the service at the funeral home.
Betty was the daughter of the late John Hardy and Azaline Merritt Hardy of Lizella. She was Born in Crawford County and attended Crawford County High School. Betty was a member of Dixon Methodist Church, Golden Opportunities, VFW Auxiliary and Women of the Moose. She was preceded in death by her first husband: William Eugene Rowntree and her second husband: J.N. (Bill) Elliott of Macon.
Mrs. Elliott is survived by her step-daughter: Becky Bradshaw of Maryland, thirty five nieces and nephews; many great nieces and nephews.
