When Bernadette’s sister-in-law told me that the AT&T outage was caused by a solar burst, it did not surprise either of us. You see, that burst was Bernadette leaving her earthly bonds. She never did anything quietly, her life was nothing if not loud.
Bernadette was one of the most brilliant attorneys I have ever known, after graduating Law Review & a national Moot Court winner. She argued in front of the GA Supreme Court & the US Court of Appeals. I couldn’t begin to list the number of clients she helped.
Bernadette touched many lives outside of her work too. No one who knew her doesn’t have at least one, or 52, crazy stories to tell. She was a talented writer and artist, and her work reflected her zany personality.
Bernadette was 100% Sicilian and she lived it proudly. She loved fiercely & was loved by many in return. I was blessed to be one of them and am grateful I could take care of her these last six years and be with her when she left.
Per her instructions, Bernadette will be cremated and her ashes scattered on Long Island along with her beloved pets, Barnabus, her cat, Laverne, her rescued pit mix and Mango, her Sun Conure. She asked that the Rainbow Bridge poem be recited as they are now reunited.
