Barbara B. Thompson, 77, passed away on Monday, May 10, 2021. A graveside service will be held on Sunday, May 16, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at Shadowlawn Cemetery in LaGrange, Georgia with the Rev. Johnny Morton officiating. The family will greet friends on Saturday, May 15, 2021 from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at Snow’s Memorial Chapel Bass Road. Barbara was born in Atlanta, Georgia to the late Emory Rudolph and Alice Ross Brooks. She was preceded in death by her husband, W. Donald Thompson and sister, Jackie Garrett. Barbara was a graduate of the University of Georgia. She was an author of several books, wrote articles for Macon Magazine and the Macon Telegraph. She was a member of Ingleside Baptist Church. She was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt.
She is survived by her sons; Brett (DeRynn) Thompson of Manhattan Beach, CA, Brad (Katherine) Thompson of Macon, grandchildren; Carr Thompson, Callie Thompson, Olivia Thompson, Emory Thompson and Brooks Thompson, sister, Sylvia Lanier of Rome, nieces, Alana (Matt) Cobb, Alicia Lanier and several great nieces and nephews, and brother-in-law, Philip Thompson of LaGrange.
