Barbara Jean Johnson, 85, passed away Thursday, April 8, 2021. Graveside services will be held at 3:30 PM Monday in Macon Memorial Park Cemetery. Pastor Matthew Bishop will officiate. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to the American Cancer Society. Masks and social distancing will be required to be in attendance.
Mrs. Johnson was born in Eastman, Georgia the daughter of the late Velma Mullis Rogers and John M. Rogers and was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas L. Johnson and her sister, Betty Pipkin. She was a homemaker and of the Baptist Faith always putting the Lord first. Mrs. Johnson was a kind, loving, generous mother, grandmother, and sister that was always there for her family and neighbors. She will be missed dearly by all.
Mrs. Johnson is survived by her children, Roxanne Williams (Lamar), Deborah Dykes (Randy), Lora Thurston (Danny), and April Wood (John); grandchildren, Dylan, Brandon, and Devon Dykes, James Powers, and Daniel Thurston; 7 great-grandchildren; brother, James Rogers (Opie); several nieces and nephews.
