Mrs. Barbara June Sims Hencely walked peacefully through The Gates of Heaven on November 7th, 2023 at the age of 85. She was surrounded by her loved ones, covered in love and prayers. A private ceremony will be held for family and close friends.
Mrs. Barbara June was born on the 7th day of February 1938, in Greenville, Georgia. The Daughter of Agnes McCrary Sims and Marshal Sims. Barbara was a graduate of Greenville High School where she played Guard for the Greenville Highschool Basketball Team. Mrs. June was also an attendee of Massey Business School in Atlanta, Georgia. After attending the Massey Business school, she proudly worked at General Acceptance Corporation. When she moved to Macon, Georgia she worked for Ricoh Solutions, which eventually became Wells Fargo where she retired from at 82.In 2005 she was awarded the Premiere Award and was selected out of 450 employees for a free cruise to San Juan Puerto Rico, ST. Barthelemy French West Indies, ST. Maarten French West Indies, and ST. Thomas of the U.S. Virgin Island.
June was an avid and passionate square dancer. She was a member of The Irish Reelers, Y Squares, Single Square Dancers USA, and the Solos Square Dancing Clubs. She spent many hours in her lifetime, perfecting her moves, and was awarded many ceremonial recognitions for her talents in Square Dancing.
Mrs. June was The Matriarch of her family and words cannot express her love and strengths. She loved whole heartedly and intently. She spent a lifetime selflessly caring for her loved ones, making everyone around her feel loved, and will eternally be cherished by the ones she loves.
She is survived by her Husband Wiley Hencely, Son Pleamon Paulk, Grand Son Brenton Paulk, Grand Daughters Jennifer Paulk and Amanda Paulk, and her Great Grands Hayden, Grayson, Isabelle, and Eloise Paulk. Her great grandchildren were her entire universe and the epitome of the apple of her eyes, as they thought the same of her. June spent her free time vacationing and visiting with her Great Grands for the past eight years. Her favorite pastime was making memories with her four great grands and telling them stories of her beautiful well lived life. She has had an incredible life, full of love, accomplishments, and humor. We will forever cherish your laughter, tenacity love, and sass. She has left lasting footprints on the hearts of many.
