Barbara Lenora Head, 93, passed away on April 3, 2018. The family will greet friends on Monday, April 9, 2018 from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home, 3969 Mercer University Drive, Macon GA. A private graveside service will at 2:00 p.m., April 9, 2018 for family with the Rev. Teresa Edwards officiating. Memorial donations in lieu of flowers, may be made to Forest Hills United Methodist Church, 1217 Forest Hill Road, Macon GA 31210.
Barbara was born in Marion, North Carolina on July 25, 1924. She married Sam Head on March 21, 1942 in Gaffney, South Carolina. Barbara was a wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was a long time member of Forest Hills United Methodist Church and the Pope Sunday School Class.
She is survived by her daughters, Melinda Mansker and Sammy Diggins. Grandchildren, Patrick Diggins, Rebecca Mansker (George) Russell, Kirk Mansker, great grandchildren, Samuel Mason, Jessica (Trenton) Cooke and Bayley Diggins, special friends, Joe and Joan Jones and their daughters, Ashley, Brittany and Rachel.
Barbara is predeceased by her husband, Sam Head, grandson, Christopher Diggins and son-in-law, Mickey Mansker.
Her family would like to thank the staff at Antebellum Arlington Place for the care they gave to Barbara.
