Barbara Hales

Barbara “Jean” Griffin Hales of Dry Branch, Georgia passed away Thursday, December 8, 2022. There will be a Celebration of Life on Thursday, December 15, 2022 at 2:00 pm at Macon Memorial Park Mausoleum Chapel with Pastor Cory Maurer officiating. There will be a visitation from 1:00 pm until service time in the Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to Children’s Hospital of Macon, 888 Pine Street, Macon, GA 31201.

Mrs. Hales, the daughter of the late George and Helen Morris Griffin, was born November 16, 1935 in Macon, Georgia. She was retired from the Bibb County Board of Education food services. She was a former beautician and seamstress. She was a loving wife, mother, Nanny, great grandmother, and great great grandmother.

She was preceded in death by her late husband, Luther “Buddy” Hales. She is survived by her children, Deborah Tidwell, Sandra Beasley, Barbara Arnold, Tammy (Gregg) Butts; grandchildren, Christopher Daniel (Callie), Leslie McDaniel (Tye), Victoria Harper (Danny), Robert Daniel, Shawn Farr, Jessica Daniel, Drew Butts, Craig Butts; fourteen great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; sisters, Judy Johnson, Kathye Griffin and brother, David Neal Griffin.
