Anthony Joseph “T.J.” Freeman, 29, passed away on Thursday, May 5, 2016. A Celebration of His Life will be held on Monday, May 9, 2016 at 2 p.m. at the Centreplex Arena with the Rev. John Sheeley and Chaplain Dr. Laudis Lanford officiating. The Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until 12 noon in the Visitation Room, and will continue in the Arena from 12:30 p.m. until service time at the Centreplex. Burial will be at Glen Haven Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Macon Shriners, 222 Mecca Drive, Macon, 31206.
T.J. was born in Macon to Vicki Jo Justice Freeman and the late Charles Edwin Freeman. He was preceded in death by his father, Donny Wood. T.J. attended Northridge Baptist Church. He was a Deputy Sheriff with the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office after several years with the Macon Police Department. T.J. was a member of K9, SWAT Team, Special Investigation Unit, specifically narcotics and had several advanced law enforcement certifications. He was a member of Mabel Masonic Lodge #255, Al Sihah Shrine Temple, and loved duck hunting.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 7 ½ years, Jessica; children, Braden and Blaiklyn; mother and step-father, Vicki and Gordon Lindsey; K9 Partner Deputy, Bojar (Boy-er); mother and father-in-law, Tammy and Mike McClendon of Springfield, AL; three brothers and one sister, several nieces and nephews, and very close special friends who are considered family.
At the request of his wife, Jessica, a book will be available to share memories of T.J. at the visitation and at the Sheriff’s office. Anyone who would like to share their memories in the book should call the Public Affairs Division at 621-5677.
