Ansel Joel Spearman, Jr., 82, passed away Monday, April 15, 2024, at a local hospital. The family will greet friends from 10:00 am - 11:00 am, Thursday, April 18, 2024, at Snow's at Macon Memorial Park. A celebration of his life will follow at 11:00 am, in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Lane Collins officiating. Interment will be at Macon Memorial Park Cemetery.
Mr. Spearman was born November 8, 1941, in Macon to the late Ansel Joel Spearman, Sr. and Elizabeth Carmine Donaldson Wood. He honorably served his country as a Major with the Army National Guard. He was ever the handyman, able to fix anything given to him to tinker with. He also had a great sense of humor, loving to play with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Mr. Spearman was a devoted family man and loved to go on cruises and tend to his yard.
Mr. Spearman was a member of Greenwood Baptist Church and was retired from the United States Postal Service.
Mr. Spearman is survived by the love of his life, his wife of sixty-three years: Etta Spearman; sons: Ansel Deryl Spearman (Beverly) and Wallace Dwayne Spearman; daughter: Lois Mitzi Freeman (Roger); eight grandchildren; twenty-one great-grandchildren; a sister: Carmine Wills and a brother: George Wood.
