Anita O. Jarriel, beloved wife of Tom Jarriel, passed away on Wednesday, December 4, 2013. A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday at Snow’s Memorial Chapel, Cherry Street. Pastor Scott Sanders and Mr. Thomas Causey will officiate. Friends and family are welcome to visit and celebrate her life at the residence, 674 Fairmont Drive from 5 until 7 PM on Friday.
Anita was born on October 21, 1949 in Oak Ridge, TN and lived there until she was twelve years old. She then moved to Georgia where she lived the remainder of her life. Anita was the daughter of the late Richard L. Overman and Frankie Bridges Overman.
Survivors include her husband, Thomas “Tom” Franklin Jarriel; daughters, Lori A. Steelman of Macon, Leslie Steelman Poythress (Michael) of Macon, Tori J. Goolsby (Nate) of Macon; step-son, Scott Jarriel of Savannah; grandchildren, Thomas Causey, Avery Poythress, Anna Steelman, Tyler Poythress, and Casey Mitchell; mother, Frankie Bridges Overman of Macon; sister, Linda Overman Williams (Butch) of Hickory, NC; uncle, Robert L. Bridges (Sybil) of Milledgeville; several cousins.
Anita was a loving wife to her devoted husband. She was a dedicated and giving mother to her children. Anita was quick to lend a hand, volunteering much of her time at Bolingreen Nursing Home where her mother resides. She loved much and was much loved.
