William E. Turnmire

William E. "Bill" Turnmire, 84 of Loves Park, IL, passed away on 05/02/22 at 7:59 pm. He passed in peace

after a long illness. Bill was born on January 31st, 1938 in Soldiers Grove, Wisconsin. Bill was the son of

Grant and Rosetta (Smith) Turnmire. He grew up in Soldiers Grove where he met his wife Janice Bennett

and they were married for 46 years, until Janice passed away with a long illness.

Bill worked at Chrysler in Belvidere Illinois for 30 years until his retirement. He proudly served the United States Army until 1958. He loved his wife Janice and his family. Hunting, fishing, Hayward Wis,

horses, attending kid events and traveling were things he enjoyed.

Survivors include son, Bill (Dana) Turnmire of Michigan, daughter, Vikky Turnmire of Loves Park and

daughter, Babette Turnmire of Loves Park; grandchildren include, Traci Turnmire, Michael Turnmire, Billy Turnmire, Brice Turnmire, Jason Nicoson, Mark Nicoson, Breanna Turnmire and Grant Turnmire;

great-grandchildren include Ketraevion Franklin, Mya Turnmire, Mylee Turnmire, Max Turnmire, Nevaeh

Turnmire, Autumn Crutcher, Jax Nummer, Beau Zienkiewicz, Trenton Nicoson and many great-great-

grandchildren. In-laws include Bobby & Marianne Bennett, Sharon & Jim Davidson, Jerry & Lisa Bennett and Kathy & Dan Sladek. Bill is preceded in death by his father, Grant Turnmire, mother Rosetta (Smith) Turnmire, wife Janice (Bennett) Turnmire, grandson Billy Turnmire, sister Rosemary & uncle Ray Runice, sister Joyce and uncle Timmy Mageland, sister Ruth & uncle Arvid Kvigne, and 2 brothers Emanuel Grant & Reginald Jack.

A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, July 16, 2022 at Sunset Funeral Home, 8800 N. Alpine Rd, Machesney Park, IL 61115 with a visitation to begin at 9:00 a.m.
