William V. Scales

Bill was born September 9, 1951 in Mason City, Iowa, the son of Alice and Victor Scales. He enjoyed camping, classic car shows, traveling to the Back to the 50’s event in Minnesota, Friday night beers with the boys and in his later years spending time with his furry friend Tippy. Bill cherished all of his nieces and nephews. He never missed any of their events and always made sure to video record their exciting life moments.

Bill is survived by his brother David (Maggie) Scales, sisters Linda (Wayne) Thurman, Danelle (Scott) Leslie, lifelong friend Ken Carter, and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank all of Bill’s girlfriends at OSF Cancer Center. Bill looked forward to his visits with his always smiling nurses and social hours with them.

A visitation will be held from 9:00a.m.-10:00a.m. Friday, April 7, 2023 at Sunset Funeral Home, 8800 N. Alpine Rd, Machesney Park, IL 61115 with a funeral service to begin at 10:00 a.m.
