William "Bill" Hastings

William Lee Hastings, 74, of Machesney Park, passed away April 20, 2015 at River Bluff Nursing Home. Born November 26, 1940 in Belvidere; he was the son of Ernest and Ellen (Fiebranz) Hastings. He married Linda Herbig on July 30, 1966 in Belvidere.

A U. S. Army Veteran, Bill retired from Textron (Elco) after 30 years of employment.

An avid Green Bay Packers and Colorado Rockies fan, Bill enjoyed watching Country Westerns and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Linda Hastings; children, Lori (Bruce) Donnelli, Marc (Amanda) and Andrew ( Tracy) Hastings; grandchildren, Ryan and Jacob Donnelli, Keagan, Declan, Liam, and Finn Hastings; great-grandson, Landyn Donnelli; and extended family.

He was predeceased by his parents, father and mother-in-law, Albert and Mildred Herbig; granddaughter, Rosalie A. Hastings.

The family wishes to give special thanks to the staff of River Bluff Nursing Home.
