Wayne A. Schewe

Wayne A. Schewe, 71, of Machesney Park, IL, passed away peacefully, Tuesday evening, June 27, 2023 surrounded by his loving family. He was born July 23, 1951 in Wausau, WI, the son of Orville and Naomie (Hartwig) Schewe. He married Marilyn Jean Head on July 22, 1972. Wayne was employed as an electrician at Ingersoll and Gleason Cutting Tools. He enjoyed fishing and vacationing with family. His greatest joy was his 1964 Buick Skylark. Wayne was a simple man that loved spending time with family and friends and enjoying cold beverages in the driveway.

Wayne is loved and missed by his children, Tonya (Dusty) Graves, Bryan (Melissa) Lintz, Jeff (Chris) Schewe and Tim (Melissa) Schewe; grandchildren, April Graves, Tiffany (Jeremy) Graves, Tanner Schewe, Sgt. Mason Schewe, Michael Schewe, Taylor (James) Alfredson and Ethan Schewe; great-grandchildren, Bryton, Ellah, Melanie, River, Raelynn, Kallen, Addilynn, Avarie, Carter and Ziomara; siblings, Barbara (Jim) Jorgenson, Bev Dickson, Bruce (Melanie) Schewe, Brian (Jenny) Schewe; sister-in-law, Jill Schewe as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Marilyn Jean, brother Harold Schewe and brother-in-law Lee Dickson.

A visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m., Monday, July 3, 2023 at Sunset Funeral Home, 8800 N. Alpine Rd, Machesney Park, IL 61115 with a funeral service to begin at 12:00 p.m. with Pastor Paul Meyers officiating. Burial in Sunset Memorial Gardens.
