Wayne L Anderson

Wayne L. Anderson, 61, Rockton, passed away January 6, 2014. He was born on April 28, 1952 in Rockford to Milton and Jean (Brickson) Anderson. He graduated from Harlem High School and was employed at Ingersoll and Hyrdroline Manufacturing.

He married Candi Darby on September 9, 2000. Wayne loved riding his Harley, watching NASCAR (especially Jeff Gordon), playing golf and was a general handyman. He was also a volunteer firefighter for the North Park Fire Department for many years.

Wayne is survived by his wife, Candi; children, Nicki (Todd) Ramsey, Keith (Crystal) Anderson, Michael (Rachel) Anderson, Heather Darby, and Kelly (Terry) Fogle; grandchildren, Ethan, Emma, Lucas, Austin, Alik, Taytem, and one on the way. He is also survived by a sister, Lannette (John) Poulos and a brother, Larry (Fran) Paris.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Milton and Jean Anderson.

Funeral service will be held at 2pm, Friday, January 10, 2014 at Sunset Funeral Home, 8800 N. Alpine Road, Machesney Park. Pastor Wendell Maynard will be officiating. Visitation will be held from 12pm to the time of service. Entombment will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in Wayne’s name may be sent to First Northern Credit Union, 104 N. Showplace Drive, Rockford.
