Virginia "Ginny" L. Scerba

Virginia L. "Ginny" Scerba, 96, of Loves Park, IL, passed away peacefully, Sunday morning, October 29, 2023 surrounded by her loving family. Ginny was born May 2, 1927 in Denver, CO to Charles and Blanche Combs. She married William "Bill" Scerba on December 15, 1973 at the Church by the Side of The Road in Rockton, IL. Ginny was employed by Kable Printing in Mount Morris and the Pump Handle Inn in Rockford for many years. She loved gambling and giving her money to the slot machines. Ginny was an avid Chicago Cubs fan. Most of all, she adored her family.

Ginny is loved and missed by her children, Terry Smith, Sharla Robbins, Twyla Pelley and Rory (Judy) Robbins; 13 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Bill, children, Tana Blake, Sheila Wanstrom and Danny Robbins, grandson Steven Blake, sisters, Judy, Nettie, and Dina, and brother William.

A visitation will be held from 1:00-2:00 p.m., Friday, November 3, 2023 at Sunset Funeral Home, 8800 N. Alpine Rd, Machesney Park, IL 61115 with a funeral service to begin at 2:00 p.m. Entombment in Sunset Memorial Gardens.
