Terry L. Evans

Terry Lee Evans, 74, of Rockford, IL, passed away September 27, 2022. He was born on August 8, 1948 in Canton, IL to Nona and John Evans. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. Terry served in the United States Navy, and was a member of the VFW honor guard post 9759. On November 20, 1971 he married the love of his life, Connie, and they shared 2 children and over 50 years in marriage. He worked for many years at Gates Rubber Co. Terry would often cut trees or hold numerous jobs at one time and he always worked hard to support his family. Terry loved sports. He loved baseball, football, golfing, and shooting. He would support his children and grandchildren’s sporting events. Terry loved to host cook outs, go fishing, and spend quality time with his friends and family. He will be missed by many.

The family would like to thank the Rockford & Maddison VA, Rockford Fire Dept. Station 9, and Dr. Hopman. They would also like to thank his care team at Mercy Health System, and Davita Health system for the care they provided to Terry.

Survived by wife, Connie, son Mark (Paige-fiancé) Evans-their children are Bella, Harper, and Harlow, daughter Tonya (Steve- son in law) Bidwell- children Brock and Brayden.

Predeceased by mother Nona, father John, (brothers)- Gary John, James, Rick, Brad. Sisters Mary Evans and Margaret Black.

A visitation for Terry will be Saturday October 1, at 5pm funeral to follow at 6pm, located at 8800 N. Alpine Rd. Machesney Park IL 61115.

Private burial to family.
