Suzanne Jean Strang

Suzanne J. "Sue" Strang, 78, of Machesney Park, IL, passed away after a long illness, on Saturday, September 7, 2019. She was born August 15, 1941 in Rockford, IL, to Mortimer and Doris (Divan) Wilson. She worked at Barber Coleman until her retirement. She loved playing bingo, bowling and spending time with her family.

She is survived by her loving husband of 58 years, Fred Strang; daughter, Doris (Lew) Haven; son, Fred (Diane) Strang, Jr.; son-in-law, Jeremy Try; granddaughter Ashley and grandson, Jessie Try; brother, Jasper (Nancy) Wilson; sisters, Mary (Dennis) Neste, Dawn (Brian) Bouma, and Denise (Tom) Beyer; several nieces and nephews, as well as several sister and brother-in-laws.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Venus (Strang) Try, her parents, and two brothers, Steve and Stanley Wilson, her nephew, Mortimer A. Wilson, and mother and father-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Strang.

A visitation will be held from 1:00-2:00 p.m., Friday, September 13 at Sunset Funeral Home, 8800 N. Alpine Rd, Machesney Park, IL 61115 with a memorial service to begin at 2:00 p.m. Memorials may be made to the family.
