Stephanie B Janicki

Stephanie Janicki, 92, Rockford, passed away peacefully at Maple Crest Centre in Belvidere on January 10, 2013. She was born on August 29, 1920 to Stanley and Rose (Wotta) Kupiecki in Bronson, Michigan.

She married Chester Janicki on June 14, 1947 and made her home in South Bend, Indiana until moving to Rockford in 1965.

Stephanie loved her family, loved to travel and was an active member of St. Rita’s Church. Other than her family, church was the greatest joy in her life.

She is survived by her children; Rose (Tom) Sullivan of Rockford, IL, Terry (Molly) Janicki of Eldorado Hills, CA, and Nick (Bonnie) Janicki of Carmel, IN; grandchildren; Nick (Holly) Janicki, Jill (John) Willhoite, Alex Janicki, Joshua Janicki, and Andrew Janicki; great grandchild, Ethan Willhoite and sisters; Jean, Marge and Ann.

Stephanie is preceded in death by her husband, Chester; her parents Stanley and Rose; brothers Floyd and Mike and sisters Eva and Mary.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to all of her neighbors in Mellwood Heights, Doctor Molinari and to the incredible staff (friends) at Maple Crest Centre.

Funeral service will be at 10am, Wednesday, January 16, 2013 at St. Rita Catholic Church, 6254 Valley Knoll Dr. Rockford. Father David Peck will be officiating. Visitation will be held from 9am to 10am at St. Rita’s. Entombment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens, 8800 N Alpine Rd, Machesney Park.
