Stacia L. Gibson, 100, of Rockford, passed away March 31, 2015 at Rosewood Care Center. Born December 5, 1914 in Waterville, MN; she was the daughter of Ernest and Nora (Sanford) Tuman. She was the wife of Walter Gibson.
A graduate of Central High School, she retired from National Lock Company after 32 years of employment.
She was a member as well as past president of the Rockford VFW Ladies Auxiliary Ross Pearson Post 5149, Daughters of the American Revolution, Winnebago and Boone County Genealogical Society, all for many years.
Stacia is survived by her two sons, Ronald (Anne) and Richard (Sandra) Niday; brother, William Tuman; grandchildren, John (Dawn), Dennis (Michelle), and Carol Niday; step-grandchildren, William (Denise) Alldritt and Sallie (Bob) Morgensen; great-grandchildren, Ronald, Don Ray Jr., Carrie, Joshua, Michael, and Caley Niday; step-great-grandchildren, Nathen, Lilly, and Lindsay Alldritt, Bret and Eric Morgensen; three great, great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and three granddogs, Selah, Gizmo, and Charlie.
She was predeceased by her parents, husband, and Grandson, Don Ray Niday; and three sisters.
Funeral Service 2 p.m. Friday, April 10th, at Sunset Funeral Home, 8800 N. Alpine Road, Machesney Park. Visitation 12:30 p.m. to time of service. Interment in Sunset Memorial Gardens.
