Sharon L. Crane, 77 was welcomed into heaven on Saturday, January 2, 2016. Born May 6, 1938 in Cornell, WI. to Chester and Freda (Lawrence) DeMars. Sharon was born and raised on a farm, but farm life wasn’t her choice of careers so she headed to the “Big City” Rockford, Il. to join her sister and secure a job with the Telephone company. She married Robert Crane and together raised their five children. He preceded her in death. Later Sharon became a bus driver for the Harlem School District and for 36 years and one month she loving and willingly transported students, athletes and coaches to their destinations. Sharon enjoyed contributing to the casinos and bingo, it was pure fun. She was an excellent cook, baker, maintained an impeccable home, nurtured a large garden, and hosted memorable Sunday dinners.
Survivors: children, David (Anne) Crane, Douglas (Theresa) Crane, Diane (Bill) McKinney, Brenda (Dale) Ortberg, Brent (Vicki) Crane; grandchildren, Andrew, Jacob, Erin, Travis, Robert, Caitlin, Augusta and Lucas; sisters, Mary and Patricia. Predeceased by parents; husband; brothers, Richard and Roger.
Funeral Mass: 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 7, at St. Bridgets Church 600 Clifford Ave. Loves Park, Il. Visitation: 10:00 a.m until time of service. Burial Sunset Memorial Gardens.
