Scott T. Brown, 79, of Loves Park, IL, passed away suddenly, Wednesday, December 29, 2021 at OSF St. Anthony Medical Center. Scott was born June 30, 1942 in Rockford, IL, the son of Alfred and Ruth (Todson) Brown. Scott proudly served in the United States Army during the Vietnam era. He married the love of his life, Rebecca Sypher on June 20, 1970. Scott worked as a lineman with Illinois Bell for over 32 years. He was a lifetime member of the Loves Park VFW. Scott enjoyed fishing. In his younger years, he liked working on cars and taking his Pontiac GTO to the drag strip.
Scott is loved and missed by his wife, Rebecca; children, Andrea (Rob Koteski) Brown and Jeff Brown; grandchildren, Katie Pool, Aiden and Adam Brown; and sister, Judy Mitchell. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, James Brown.
A visitation for Scott will be held Thursday, January 6, 2022 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Sunset Funeral Home, 8800 North Alpine Road, Machesney Park, Illinois 61115, followed by a funeral service with military honors at 2:00 PM.
