Sally (nee Hilsabeck) Huff, 83, of Loves Park, died Thursday, March 22, 2018 at Fairhaven Christian Retirement Home in Rockford of natural causes. Sally was born to Floyd and Jessie (Smiley) Hilsabeck in December 5, 1935 near the northern Wisconsin town of Amberg. In 1942, when Sally was 7 her family moved to Sturgeon Bay in Door County, Wisconsin, so her father who had trained as a welder, could work in the shipyards. Sally had a good relationship with her siblings. After high school graduation, she traveled with a team for God’s Invasion Army for two years, focusing on Evangelistic Ministry to kids (VBS). She then lived in Chicago, where she worked for Christian Life Magazine and became an avid Cubs baseball fan. In 1966 she married Lynn Huff of Iowa; they farmed for several years and they moved to Rockford. She and Lynn enjoyed traveling to most of the states in the US. Although she had no children of her own, Sally remained active in children’s ministry with Child Evangelism Fellowship and Awanas. Sally recently visited Alaska and Hawaii the last 2 states on her list of 50. Sally worked until her retirement at Woodward in Rockford. Survived by brother, Delbert (Betty) Hilsabeck of Sandwich, IL; numerous nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents; husband, Lynn; siblings, Calvin, Louise, David, Willard, Lillian. Funeral Service at 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 7 at Sunset Funeral Home, 8800 N. Alpine Rd, Machesney Park.
