Sally L. Cunningham, 86, of Machesney Park, IL, passed away peacefully, Sunday, March 24, 2024 surrounded by her loving family. She was born January 6, 1938 in Dodgeville, WI, the daughter of Daniel and Dora (Corbin) Flannery. Sally graduated from Argyle High School and went on to marry Jesse Cunningham on November 15, 1958. She was a 25 year employee of Bergner's and truly enjoyed her job. Sally was a devoted member of St. Bridget Catholic Church in Loves Park until becoming ill. Sally enjoyed being part of TOPS for many years, where she made many friends. She enjoyed camping with her family and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Sally was extremely creative and will be truly missed by her family.
Sally is survived by her daughters, Belinda Burke, Danette (Michael) Meyers and Dena (Ernie Clark) Manning; grandchildren, Donald Burke, Chase (Tina) Manning, William (Jenny) Burke, Devin (Robert) Manning- Persson, Melanie Meyers, Nicole Meyers and Ryan (Aubrey) Cunningham and several great-grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Sharon Cook and son-in-law, Jim Manning. Sally was preceded in death by her parents, husband Jesse, son Brian, son-in-law, Daniel Burke, siblings, Betty Harris and Mary Marty.
A visitation will be held from 10:00-11:00 a.m., Friday, March 29, 2024 at Sunset Funeral Home, 8800 N. Alpine Rd, Machesney Park, IL 61115 with a funeral service to begin at 11:00 a.m. Entombment in Sunset Memorial Gardens.
