Rose Miceli, 85, of Rockford, passed away May 22, 2021 at Ascension Living Saint Anne Place after a short stay. Born on June 24, 1935 in Roccamena, Sicily, the daughter of George and Maria Saladino. Rose immigrated to Rockford in 1949 with her parents and siblings. She married Vincent Miceli on June 2, 1962. She worked at Nelson Knitting before having children. Rose was a loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She loved everyone in her family with all her heart and her family was her life. Rose was a selfless woman and had a heart of gold. She will truly be missed. After hearing of her husband’s death, only about a week apart, she joined him in heaven.
Survivors include her son, Anthony (Michelle) Miceli; daughter, Rosalie (Vince) Torcolese; grandchildren, Tony and Nicholas Miceli and Peter and Tanina Torcolese. Devoted sister, Jesse and Jack (deceased) Canale. Supportive brother-in-law, Luciano and Vincenza (deceased) Miceli, and sister-in-law, Anna Marie and Carl (deceased) Caruana, as well as a niece and numerous nephews. Preceded in death by her parents George and Maria Saladino, husband Vincent Miceli, sister Carmella and Saverio Colletti, brother Joseph and Sandra Saladino, and sister-in-law, Concetta and Biagio DiPasquale.
Due to the Covid-19 situation, a private funeral mass for immediate family will be held at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, May 26, 2021 at St. Anthony Padua Church, 1010 Ferguson Street, Rockford, IL 61102.
