Rodney W Callahan

Rodney Wayne Callahan, age 68, of Machesney Park, Illinois passed away on Tuesday, January 30, 2024. He was born October 19, 1955 in Walnut Ridge, Arkansas to Charlotte (Kight) and James Callahan. He married the love of his life, Alice Callahan in August of 1979 and they spent 45 wonderful years together.

Rodney was an avid Chicago Bears fan, he also enjoyed watching the Bulls. He enjoyed being outside, taking care of his lawn and vegetable garden, and feeding the squirrels. In his younger years he enjoyed playing golf.

He is survived by his wife, Alice Callahan; sisters, Mary (Terry) Norris and Linda (Curtis) McIntyre; stepson, Steven Miller; grandsons, A.J. Degenhardt and Derrek Degenhardt; special person, Brenda Misuraca; special friend Chris Lindstrom and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Charlotte and James Callahan; and special friend Greg Lindstrom.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the family.

A visitation for Rodney will be held Tuesday, February 6, 2024 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at Sunset Funeral Home & Memorial Gardens, 8800 North Alpine Road, Machesney Park, Illinois 61115, followed by a funeral service at 10:00 AM.
